Who’s driving the bus anyway?

I am renown for asking this question.  As a leader, as a coach and as a parent I find that asking “who is driving the bus?” is effective at communicating the difference between being in control or being a passenger to events in your life.

This month I needed to ask myself this question, and I needed to understand what driving my bus looks like for me.  As an implementor (find out your profile HERE) driving the bus is having a clear goal, progressing toward it, not procrastinating or being dependant on others to feel good about myself.   So this month I wanted to share some of the tools I use to help me drive my bus that I hope helps you to drive yours. Our featured articles this month include:

  1. Thoughts on decision making from the awesome human being, Michael Major
  2. A thought provoking career planning self assessment tool
  3. A cure for procrastination
  4. Access to a life hack toolkit! (the betterME community portal containing all sorts of goodies to super charge your life)

As always, please reach out if you have questions, feedback, or would like to get involved and thank you for your ongoing support, we are eternally grateful.

Is it time for a new career path?

If you find yourself in a position where you are wondering if you should be considering a new career or not, there are some key questions you should be asking yourself.  Undertaking a self assessment of how you are managing your career could highlight areas of focus and provide some much needed clarity.

Download the checklist below to kick start your thinking process.  Be sure to give yourself quiet time when you are feeling relaxed and your Ape (reactive emotional self) is in check.  If you are feeling unsure or overwhelmed consider working with a coach or mentor to help you unpack your thinking and explore your options.  If you have any questions please reach out, the Decida team would be happy to help.
